Bad News from UFC: Arman Tsarukyan Drops in Rankings
The UFC has updated its rankings across all weight classes, with the most significant drop recorded by Khamzat Chimaev. The athlete representing the UAE has fallen eight positions and now occupies the 10th place. This drop is directly related to his loss to American Shawn Strickland at UFC 328, which was decided by a split decision. Strickland, on the other hand, makes his debut in the top ten, now sitting at the 8th position.
Additionally, Armenia's representative Arman Tsarukyan has also seen a decline in the pound-for-pound rankings. The number two ranked athlete in the lightweight category has dropped two spots and is now ranked 15th. It is worth noting that recently, Tsarukyan supported his friend Chimaev, who faced defeat, while he himself will be on standby as a reserve fighter for the title fight between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje on June 15.
The top ten of the Pound-For-Pound rankings now looks as follows:
- Islam Makhachev (Russia)
- Ilia Topuria (Spain)
- Alexander Volkanovski (Australia)
- Alex Pereira (Brazil)
- Petr Yan (Russia)
- Tom Aspinall (Great Britain)
- Merab Dvalishvili (Georgia)
- Shawn Strickland (USA)
- Joshua Van (USA)
