Russians Continue to Visit Armenia: Statistics
In 2026, Russia maintained its leading position in the number of tourists visiting Armenia. In the first four months of the year, 245,178 Russians visited Armenia, accounting for 36% of the total number of tourists. This information comes from statistical data.
Overall, during this period, the country welcomed 625,843 tourists, which is 119,000 more than in the same time frame in 2025. The leading trio also includes Georgia with 93,123 tourists (14%) and Iran with 48,450 citizens (7%).
The top five is rounded out by Ukraine (9,229 people, 1.35%) and Germany (9,012 people, 1.31%). The majority of tourists (57%) arrived by air, primarily through the Zvartnots International Airport. The land checkpoint with the highest passenger flow was the Bagratashen checkpoint (16%), while the lowest was through the Ayrum checkpoint (1%).
The most active age group among visitors is those aged 35-44. The smallest share is attributed to teenagers aged 13-17 and citizens aged 65 and above.
