VIDEO. ‘Strong Armenia’ Does Not Need to Bribe, Says Gohar Meloyan

“The fundamental principle of equality in the electoral process concerning us has been violated. Our political leader, the president of the ‘Strong Armenia’ party, is under illegal restrictions, excuse me, I must say, even illogical restrictions,” stated Gohar Meloyan, a member of the ‘Strong Armenia’ party, during a conversation with journalists, also addressing the allegations of bribery published by the Anti-Corruption Committee.

“The political authorities regularly intervene in all our regional structures through law enforcement agencies. The morning opens with searches, 15-20 supporters and staff are detained,” Meloyan added.

According to him, the aim of the searches and arrests is to spread an atmosphere of fear. “They are trying to create an artificial image of bribes; we do not need to distribute bribes to the people…” Meloyan remarked.

It is worth reminding that the Anti-Corruption Committee has released several wiretaps regarding the distribution of electoral bribes by ‘Strong Armenia’.
