Edmon Marukyan Explains the Reason for Starting Campaign from Yeraskh

The "Enlightened Armenia" party has launched its election campaign from Yeraskh. Party leader Edmon Marukyan explained why they chose Yeraskh as their starting point. He noted that the first article of the Armenian Constitution, which pertains to the country's sovereignty, holds key and fundamental significance for them.

According to Marukyan, Yeraskh symbolizes Armenia's sovereignty. He emphasized that the current government, two years ago, succumbed to Azerbaijan's demands and halted the construction of the Yeraskh metallurgical plant. "American investors had started to build a factory in the sovereign territory of Armenia when Azerbaijan began to fire shots, leading to the suspension of the construction; it was later relocated to another site," Edmon Marukyan stated, stressing that after June 7, Armenia cannot be in such a degraded situation.
