VIDEO: Preparing for War with Azerbaijan Deteriorates Relations, Says Allen Simonian

“The disrespect towards the partner in the CSTO and the disregard for the statehood of Armenia is deteriorating relations; preparing for a 44-day war with Azerbaijan is worsening the relations,” stated the Speaker of the National Assembly, Allen Simonian, in a conversation with reporters, responding to statements from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the possibility of worsening relations between the two countries.

“The political course is a matter of choice for every state. For Armenia, human rights and freedoms are paramount values; each state chooses its own path. We have chosen the road of democratization for Armenia, while they have taken a somewhat different path... The example of Belarusian governance is unacceptable to me,” Simonian added.
