VIDEO: I Take on the Obligation to Support Pashinyan, Just Like for Sandu - Macron

French President Emmanuel Macron has confirmed his support for Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, highlighting the presence of foreign interventions orchestrated by Moscow.

During a Q&A session with the media, Macron responded to a question about whether his support would be perceived as foreign interference in the upcoming parliamentary elections in Armenia, considering his own concerns about possible Russian involvement.

Macron stated that he takes on the obligation to support Pashinyan, whom he has trusted for the past eight years. He drew parallels with Maia Sandu, emphasizing that she too was facing non-European interference during her elections.

According to the French president, he fully assumes the decision to defend European interests and European decisions.

He clarified the difference by emphasizing that there are interventions that aim to destabilize the rule of law and manipulate democratic life through media and disinformation. “Here, there is an open face of interference, and on the contrary, there are interventions by foreign agents on Moscow's orders that attempt to falsify democracy. I present my arguments and participate in democracy as the President of France; I do not falsify, it’s important to remember that,” stated Emmanuel Macron.
