Video: Attempts to Usurp Power in the Republic of Armenia, We Will Not Become a 'Guberniya' - Alen Simonyan

"A political operation is being attempted against the Republic of Armenia to change the power here," said Alen Simonyan, the Speaker of the National Assembly, during a broadcast on Public TV, commenting on the relations with Russia.

"While in Ukraine they are trying to advance their interests through military means, in Armenia, an attempt is being made to carry out a political operation—a coup attempt—against the authorities. They are trying to use our democracy against us, claiming, 'your internet is open, we will advertise with our rubles so much that everything will belong to us.' We will take some media outlets and use them against you. This will not happen; we will not allow Armenia to become a 'guberniya'; we will not be governed like Belarus,' he stated.
