CEC Rejects Registration of Tigran Urikhanyan

The Central Electoral Commission has rejected the registration of Tigran Urikhanyan, the first candidate on the electoral list of the "Alliance" party, due to the absence of necessary documents.

Tigran Urikhanyan, who leads the proportional list of candidates for the Alliance party, failed to provide evidence that he has been only a citizen of Armenia and has resided permanently in the country for the last four years. This information was disclosed on April 30 during an extraordinary session of the CEC by CEC member Zhirayr Karapetyan.

The party was given 48 hours to rectify the existing inaccuracies. Since the relevant documents were not submitted, the CEC decided to reject Tigran Urikhanyan's registration.
