During a private dinner in Florida, Donald Trump stated that he would take control of Cuba "almost immediately," hinting at a possible scenario involving military pressure using an aircraft carrier. Trump indicated that this would occur after completing work in Iran.

In his speech, he mentioned that after addressing the issues with Iran, he would order the "Abraham Lincoln" aircraft carrier to approach the Caribbean. According to his description, the world's largest military ship would position itself about 100 meters off the coast of Cuba, after which the Cubans would announce their surrender.

Although the president's aides claimed that the statements were made jokingly, they were made on the day of signing a new executive order for sanctions against the island.
