Suspect in Trump Assassination Attempt to Remain in Isolation Cell

A Washington court has denied the request to ease the detention conditions of Cole Thomas Allen, who is accused of attempting to assassinate U.S. President Donald Trump. According to a correspondent from RIA Novosti present in the courtroom, the court refused to modify Allen's detention conditions.

During the hearings, the defense noted that their client is currently held in a security cell under a 24-hour isolation regime. They requested the court to assist in changing Allen's detention conditions.

The judge stated that he is not authorized to issue instructions to the prison regarding Allen's placement but advised the defense to submit a formal request.

The shooting incident occurred on April 25 during a dinner event for the White House Correspondents' Association. This was the first similar event that Trump attended during his two terms in office. Following the incident, the President announced that he and his cabinet members are safe, and the assailant has been arrested. Authorities have identified the suspect as 31-year-old Cole Thomas Allen from California.
