Russia's Foreign Ministry Seeks Clarifications from Germany

Russia's Foreign Ministry representative has demanded clarifications from Berlin regarding the reasons for adapting economic policies and military needs. Maria Zakharova, the official spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated that German authorities must acknowledge the failure of the course adopted towards Russia in recent years. The diplomat emphasized that Berlin is obligated to explain to its public the motivations behind the country's shift to a "military rail" economy and its implications for the state.

This viewpoint was expressed by Zakharova during a broadcast on "Sputnik" radio, in response to reports about German auto manufacturers converting their factories for military production. She highlighted that the foreign policy adopted since 2014 has had negative repercussions specifically for Germany, and that the current militarization is an attempt to obscure previous mistakes.

It is noteworthy that earlier, the "Financial Times" reported on potential collaboration between "Volkswagen" and the Israeli defense conglomerate "Rafael Advanced Defence Systems." According to the newspaper, the Osnabrück plant could be utilized for producing components of the "Iron Dome" air defense system. However, "Volkswagen" has denied this information, stating that the production of weapons is excluded from their operations.
