I Used to Have a Normal Life: Macron's Wife Reflects

Brigitte Macron, the wife of the French President, has admitted that as the country's First Lady, she has faced bouts of pessimism that were previously unfamiliar to her.

“Sometimes it's hard for me to see the blue sky… I have moments of pessimism that I’ve never experienced before… I used to have a normal life, children, a job, ups and downs, just like everyone else. And these ten years have flown by so quickly… Sometimes I feel sadder than ever,” she was quoted saying by the newspaper 'Tribune'.

Macron explained that the decade spent in the role of France's First Lady has been extremely eventful. “I have seen the darkness of the world, the stupidity, the malice,” she claims.

At the same time, according to Brigitte's close associates, she continues to lead an active lifestyle. As the newspaper clarifies, her agenda includes daily fitness sessions at the gym and one-hour walks, as well as cycling excursions on weekends.

Previously, the First Lady found herself at the center of a scandal following theories suggesting that she may have been born male. According to the newspaper, Brigitte's former chief of staff, Pierre-Olivier Costa, and his deputy Tristan Bromet, who currently leads the First Lady's office, first encountered “incredible accusations” on social media back in 2019, alleging that the wife of the French leader was born male and carried the name Jean-Michel.
