Citizens Are the Gods of the State: Pashinyan

According to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, the citizen or the entirety of citizens—the people—are the gods of the state. He stated this during a lecture dedicated to Citizen's Day and titled "The Philosophy of Real Armenia" in Maralik.

“According to our concept of the state and the concept of democracy, the citizen is the god of the state or, more precisely, the entire population—the people—are the gods of the state,” said Prime Minister Pashinyan. In his opinion, this means that the people create and have created the state; therefore, the citizen is the one who has the will to have a state.

Pashinyan characterized that just as the citizen should love their state, so too should the state love its citizens. According to the Prime Minister, the breakdown of the state begins at the point where this formula is violated.

“The citizen must strengthen the state, and the state must strengthen the citizen,” emphasized the Prime Minister of Armenia.

Pashinyan noted that he and the Armenian Government believe that the state must ensure that students have competitive education, which will provide opportunities for work that guarantees a prosperous life.
