Turkey Denies Air Corridor for Israeli President's Aircraft

The official visit of Israeli President Isaac Herzog to Kazakhstan has encountered logistical challenges due to Turkey's stance. The Turkish government has refused to provide an air corridor for the Israeli leader's plane, forcing the delegation to alter its previously planned route.

According to Israeli Channel 12, after the Turkish side's refusal, the aircraft changed its direction towards Europe and then crossed into Russian airspace to reach Astana. This modification significantly extended the journey, increasing the total flight duration to 8 hours. Under normal circumstances, the route passing through Turkey would have taken much less time.

Despite the situation and the lengthy reroute, Isaac Herzog has already arrived in the capital of Kazakhstan. The president announced this on his X social media account, noting that the landing was successful. The visit includes high-level meetings, during which the parties will discuss issues related to the development of bilateral relations and regional security.
