Google and Pentagon Seal Secret Agreement: The Information
Google and the Pentagon have entered into a secret deal whereby the tech giant will provide its AI models to the U.S. Department of Defense for handling classified information. This was reported by The Information.
According to the terms of the agreement, the "AI systems in use are not intended for and should not be used for mass surveillance within the country or for autonomous weapons (including target selection) without proper human oversight and control." Furthermore, the agreement stipulates that Google will not have the right to oversee or veto the government's lawful operational decisions.
