Russia's Security Council Warns Armenia: NGOs Working to Discredit Moscow

Russia's Deputy Secretary of the Security Council, Alexey Shevtsov, spoke at a conference dedicated to the CSTO information-analytical partnership held in Moscow about non-governmental organizations (NGOs) operating in Armenia and Moldova. According to the official, these organizations are intentionally discrediting bilateral ties with Moscow, as reported by RIA Novosti.

Shevtsov noted that approximately 9,000 NGOs are currently registered in Armenia and about 14,000 in Moldova. The senior Russian official insisted that a significant number of these organizations are involved in processes aimed at worsening relations with Russia.

In addition to bilateral relations, the Russian official emphasized that these NGOs have also targeted integration processes in the post-Soviet space. According to him, their activities are also aimed at undermining various projects implemented in neighboring countries.
