Lebanon's President Criticizes Hezbollah

Lebanon's President has stated that those dragging the country into war for foreign interests are committing treason, rather than those engaging in negotiations. Joseph Aoun has criticized Hezbollah for rejecting the negotiation process with Israel. He pointed out that labeling the decision to negotiate as 'treason' is incorrect, as true treason is embroiling one's own state in military actions for the benefit of others.

Aoun raised the question of how much longer residents of the southern regions must pay for wars being fought on Lebanese territory, highlighting actions taken 'in defense of Gaza' and 'in defense of Iran'. According to the President, he would be willing to support a war if it were for the sake of Lebanon, but he completely rejects it since the aim is to serve the interests of others.

The country’s leader emphasized the pursuit of ending the state of war with Israel, based on the experiences of the 1949 Armistice Agreements. He reminded that these documents ensured a long period of calm at the borders without formal relations being established. 'Was the ceasefire agreement a humiliation? I will not agree to a humiliating deal,' he concluded.
