VIDEO: Woman Who Threw Bottle at Driver Explains Her Actions

Recently, Anahit Papatyanyan, the mother of fallen soldier Karapet Burnazyan from the 44-day war, spoke to reporters outside the police station. She detailed the incident that led to her detention today.

According to Papatyanyan, the incident occurred in February 2025 when she was participating in a fare boycott protest. While getting off a trolleybus at the intersection of Mashtots and Baghramyan streets, the driver directed obscene remarks of a sexual nature at the passengers disembarking.

Anahit Papatyanyan noted that she lost her composure due to her anger and threw a bottle aside. She emphasized that the bottle was not intentionally aimed at the driver or the vehicle, adding that such behavior does not fall under the duties of the driver or the inspector. According to her, the inspector should simply fine her in case of non-payment or other violations.

Addressing today’s events, she mentioned that her elderly mother and young child were at home when the police arrived. Her mother was panicked and called her for help. Papatyanyan stated that the police waited for her to arrive before taking her to the station in a normal manner. She also questioned whether the trolleybus driver was brought in for clarification after verbally abusing her in front of people at the stop.

The lawyer added that Anahit Papatyanyan provided a written explanation to the police, stating that she lost her self-control under the influence of emotion and threw the object towards the bus.
