VIDEO: If the drainage systems were cleaned, this image wouldn't exist, says Eduard Hayrumyan

“This is the underground channel of ‘Friendship’ in Yerevan after the rain,” writes activist Eduard Hayrumyan alongside a video posted on his Facebook page. “I took the video from the internet. I am confident that if the drainage systems of the adjacent four streets and the channel itself had been properly cleaned and maintained in a timely manner, this image would not exist. Therefore, I urge the responsible officials of the Yerevan municipality's utility department and the Arabkir administrative district to investigate the causes of flooding tomorrow and provide urgent solutions.” Hayrumyan added, “I will be in Yerevan the day after tomorrow, and I will definitely go to investigate the reasons for this problem myself.”
