Video: Hrazdan Municipality's Statement on Contaminated Water
The Hrazdan Municipality has issued a statement referring to the management of the "Andranik Petrosyan City Polyclinic of Hrazdan" LLC.
“In recent days, many citizens in Hrazdan have contacted the emergency services with complaints of nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, and fever. The relevant epidemiological services are aware of the situation. We urge those experiencing such symptoms to consult a doctor and, if possible, refrain from using water or to use it only in a boiled state,” the announcement stated.
Armen Vardumyan, the acting director of the city polyclinic, also provided clarification regarding the situation. According to him, from around 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM last night, there were numerous calls to emergency services. The complaints were similar—vomiting, nausea, fever, which were sometimes accompanied by diarrhea. By around 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM, the number of calls with the same symptoms had reached 30, prompting a report to the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
“Calls continued throughout the night until the morning and are still ongoing. Starting from the morning, all organizations under the leadership of the municipality have been informed, from 'Veolia Water' to the Ministry of Emergency Situations,” he said, noting that water samples have already been taken from various addresses and they are waiting for responses. 'Veolia Water' LLC is also conducting inspections.
Today, the polyclinic continues to receive patients with the same complaints, and there are also hospitalized individuals. Eight cases of residents not showing positive dynamics have been hospitalized. As for the total number of patients, the complete figure is unknown because many are independently seeking care at various healthcare facilities.
“We considered it our duty to inform the public that there is such an issue. We have advised either not to use the water or to use only boiled water,” he stated.
