Pashinyan Makes Statement on Transport Initiatives
During the presentation of the pre-election program of the "Civil Contract" party, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced plans for the acquisition of new electric buses and trolleybuses as well as the construction of transport infrastructure. It is planned to acquire 200 units of 18-meter long new electric buses and 71 new trolleybuses, as well as to construct 6 new transport infrastructures—bridges and overpasses—of which Yerevan clearly has a need.
This information was shared by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan while presenting the pre-election program of the "Civil Contract" party. Addressing the trolleybuses, the Prime Minister noted that this number does not include the trolleybuses that were supposed to arrive in April but have been slightly delayed due to the situation around Iran. He added that according to reports from the previous day, they are already very close to Armenia, and some of them will soon be in the republic.
The program also envisions the establishment of a unified transport network throughout Armenia, which implies the presence of public transport in all regions. "One of the painful issues in our regions is that many communities do not have regular passenger transport systems, and through the implementation of these transport networks, we need to solve the problem. Currently, there are some systems in place in certain areas, but we need to continue this process so that all communities have regular transport schedules with the regional centers, and naturally, with Yerevan as well," said Nikol Pashinyan.
