Movsisyan Makes Statement Amid ‘Genocide Memorial Is Being Demolished’ Claims
Hovhannes Movsisyan, the executive director of the Public Television Company, took to Facebook to address concerns regarding the broadcasting of the Armenian Genocide Memorial.
“From the creators of ‘The Genocide Memorial Is Being Demolished’ now comes the claim that ‘Public has reduced the live broadcast from the Genocide Memorial’. I urge anyone to ask what you are comparing to that you have made such a reduction. I officially declare that the live broadcasts on Public will continue in the same format and timing as in the last 7-8 years,” he stated.
He noted that in addition to various live connections during News broadcasts from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, there will be uninterrupted live coverage from the memorial site, similar to previous years. Additionally, a special studio will be established on the memorial grounds for conducting interviews live, as was done in the last three years.
On that day, the broadcast will feature Henri Verneuil's film “Mom”, and in the evening, the premiere of the award-winning animated film “Aurora’s Dawn” will be aired for the first time. The live broadcasts on the First Channel will also showcase performances by Armenian athletes in the European Championships for wrestling and weightlifting.
As a note, on that day more than 100 staff members of Public will work throughout the day at the memorial site to ensure an uninterrupted broadcast signal not only for Public channels but also for all other television networks and online broadcasters,” Movsisyan concluded.
