Jobs to be Filled by Armenian Citizens: Pashinyan on the Launch of TRIPP
During the presentation of the ruling "Civil Contract" party's election program, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the implementation of the TRIPP project is planned to begin in 2026. According to the Prime Minister's calculations, the power transmission lines will be commissioned the fastest. Pashinyan emphasized that the program will create numerous job opportunities and expressed hope that these will be filled by Armenian citizens without the need for foreign labor involvement.
“I am confident that by 2026 we will start work on the ground. According to my calculations, the power transmission lines will be commissioned the fastest. This project will create numerous job opportunities, and I hope we will provide jobs through Armenian citizens so that companies will not have to attract labor from other countries. The reconstruction of the railway sections at the Gyumri-Turkey border and the Yeraskh-Nakhichevan border will be done very quickly, within 1-1.5 years,” Pashinyan stated.
The TRIPP (Trump's Road for International Peace and Prosperity) investment program is included in the economic development section of the party's election program, which involves the launch of railway and power transmission infrastructure. The program also foresees the restoration of the railway sections at the Gyumri-Turkey border and the Yeraskh-Nakhichevan border.
The unblocking of regional infrastructure, including the TRIPP project and the reoperation of the Gyumri-Kars railway, aims to strengthen peace and turn the region into a "Peace Crossroad" by connecting the north and south, east and west.
TRIPP is a U.S.-Armenian investment project, the agreement on which was reached on August 8 in Washington during a summit mediated by U.S. President Donald Trump between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This project will also ensure the connection of Azerbaijan's main territory to Nakhichevan.
