Discussion on New Electricity Tariff Changes
The upcoming session of the Public Services Regulatory Commission will discuss a proposal to revise the connection fees for new electricity consumption systems.
The agenda includes a proposal initiated by Romanos Petrosyan, the temporary manager of the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA). The issue at hand pertains to changes in the connection fees for new consumption systems to the distribution network.
According to the proposed project, ENA plans to reduce the established fee for new subscribers by up to 40%. Furthermore, it is suggested to decrease the surcharge for increasing electricity supply capacity by up to 50%. The aim of these changes is to make services more accessible to larger groups of citizens.
The initiative also targets the reduction of connection fees for private homes and individual buildings with a voltage of 0.22kV and 0.4kV, as well as residents of multi-apartment buildings.
