Pashinyan Discusses Relations with Russia
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, while presenting the pre-election program of the 'Civil Contract' party, emphasized that Armenia will develop mutually beneficial and constructive ties with Russia. According to him, the importance of these relations is difficult to overstate.
Clarifying the term 'constructive transformation,' the Prime Minister noted that bilateral relations had previously been shaped under the conditions of the Nagorno-Karabakh movement. Now, with the conflict over and peace established, the relations need to be adjusted and developed under a new logic. As an example, Pashinyan pointed to the existence of railway communication, which has not been present before and will undoubtedly have a constructive impact.
The head of government stressed that attempts by certain forces in Armenia to provoke crises in these relations will not be allowed, and efforts will be made to enhance constructive cooperation. He added that this should take place within the framework of a balanced foreign policy.
