Iran Does Not Confirm Negotiation Reports

Hours after Donald Trump’s announcement, Pakistan and Iran have yet to confirm information regarding the second phase of negotiations. U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the negotiating parties would arrive in Pakistan on Monday to initiate a new round of discussions with Iran. However, neither Iranian authorities nor the host country, Pakistan, have confirmed this information, the agency reports.

Despite the absence of official confirmation, Pakistan continues its active diplomatic communications. The country’s Prime Minister has held a 45-minute phone conversation with the Iranian President, while the Foreign Minister has consulted with his Iranian counterpart.

Security measures are already being intensified in Islamabad, but so far, only Trump’s administration has announced the commencement of negotiations.
