I Made a Mistake: Sarik Minasyan on His Offensive Remarks

Dear friends, first of all, I congratulate us all on yesterday's unprecedented march and the concert we attended. Some circles, unable to contain their envy and inappropriate behavior, attacked my page with fake accounts, making indecent and insulting comments targeting not only myself but also my family and my political team. Subscribing to the Armenian mindset, as a dignified man, I succumbed to the targeted provocations and responded to some of these individuals in kind.

This is what Sarik Minasyan, the leader of the ruling party’s faction in the Gyumri City Council, wrote on his Facebook page:

“As a public and political figure, I made a mistake for which I ask for your forgiveness. I am also grateful for the hundreds of messages and comments where you expressed your sincere support. I ask all of us to be vigilant in our behavior, to show calmness in the face of such provocations. I also urge you not to target or insult people for their political views. May God help us all,” he wrote.
