Ukraine Has Reached Out to Turkey
Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrei Sibihan has announced that Kyiv has reached out to Ankara with a request to organize a meeting between the presidents of Russia and Ukraine to resolve the situation in Ukraine. According to the minister, it is expected that the leaders of the United States and Turkey, Donald Trump and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, may also be present at the talks.
"We have approached Turkey to consider the possibility of organizing a meeting at the level of Zelensky and Putin, possibly with the participation of Presidents Erdoğan and Trump. We are ready for that meeting," stated Sibihan.
On March 15, Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for the Russian president, noted that there is a pause in the negotiation process regarding the Ukrainian issue, as the U.S. has other priorities. The following day, he added that the Russian side is waiting for a new phase of negotiations, but the location and timing of the meeting have not yet been clarified for known reasons.
