Onik Gasparyan Issues Statement

Onik Gasparyan, the former chief of the Armed Forces General Staff, has proposed holding a closed discussion in the National Assembly regarding the 2020 war and subsequent events. This statement was posted on his daughter's Facebook page.

“Dear compatriots, in recent days, fake news about wartime and post-war events has been circulated by certain individuals, exploiting my persona. Those spreading false information are taking advantage of the fact that I, prioritizing national and state interests, refrain from providing public clarifications on wartime issues. Thus, I propose organizing a closed-format discussion in the National Assembly concerning the 2020 war and post-war events, involving key political and military figures who held official positions during that period, as well as political and civil society figures with the appropriate clearance to handle state and service secrets, along with relatives of fallen and missing servicemen,” Gasparyan stated.

“It is time to confront reality and dispel all the circulating lies and unwarranted exploitations. I am ready to provide a detailed and multifaceted reasoned analysis regarding matters related to the armed forces,” added Onik Gasparyan.
