Slovakia to File Complaint with EU Court Over Russia Gas Purchase Ban
Slovakia is set to file a complaint with the European Court regarding the ban on gas purchases from Russia. This was announced by Slovakia's Prime Minister Robert Fico, as reported by TASS.
“Slovakia will appeal to the EU Court of Justice against the decision to prohibit buying gas from Russia,” he stated.
According to the Prime Minister, the legal complaint is not viewed as a conflict with the EU, but rather as a necessary measure to protect its economic interests. The EU has a ban in place on the import of Russian gas, which is set to take effect from January 2026.
