Iran's Foreign Ministry Announces New Decision
The Iranian Foreign Ministry has announced the resumption of cargo transportation through the Strait of Hormuz, following the ceasefire established in Lebanon.
The Iranian authorities have decided to restart the movement of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. According to the country’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, the strait will be fully accessible for commercial navigation throughout the duration of the ceasefire in Lebanon.
The passage of vessels will be conducted via a specially coordinated route. Official data indicate that navigation rules and directions have been established based on guidelines published by Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization.
This decision is viewed as a step towards reducing regional tensions, following agreements reached regarding the cessation of military operations in Lebanon. The Iranian side clarifies that the opening of the maritime route is contingent upon the maintenance of the ceasefire regime.
