Baku Takes Steps: Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry on Armenia

During the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs, spoke about regional security and the process of normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. He stated that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is a thing of the past, as Azerbaijan has fully restored its sovereignty and territorial integrity through military and political means.

According to the official, Baku continues its actions aimed at normalizing relations with Armenia. Hajiyev emphasized that international mediating organizations, particularly the OSCE Minsk Group, have not achieved any significant results over the past three decades.

He added that true success in the region has been made possible due to local leadership and initiative, which has led to the formation of the current new situation.

Speaking about logistical and economic projects, Hajiyev highlighted the importance of transport projects with Central Asian states via the Caspian Sea. He noted the significance of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway and mentioned that the launch of the "Zangezur Corridor" could open new perspectives for the development of regional connections.

According to him, strengthening regional subjectivity does not imply isolation but rather creates a foundation for cooperation with other regions.
