VIDEO: If a police officer is ordinary, it doesn't mean they are not a leader - Pashinyan
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today attended a solemn meeting of the Police Board dedicated to the 108th anniversary of the Police in the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister delivered a speech congratulating all police officers on the anniversary and thanking them for their service. Pashinyan noted that the police force has gone through various phases of establishment and development in our country: “The police is the backbone of the state, and this backbone must always be strong, as it serves the interests of all citizens.”
“The work of the police must provide social guarantees because policing is a very complex job that is connected to the lives and security of police officers and others. And we must take all these factors into account. We are moving in this direction and with this logic,” emphasized the head of state.
Continuing to discuss the importance of individual responsibility and leadership for police officers, Nikol Pashinyan added: “All police officers must take on leadership because if a policeman is an ordinary officer, that does not mean they are not a leader. Wearing the police uniform itself is a sign of leadership within their zone of responsibility, and they should never think that others are the ones implementing that leadership. Others, of course, implement it, but each one in their own capacity.”
On the occasion of Police Day, a number of officers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs were awarded the Prime Minister's commemorative medal and certificate for their contributions to upholding legality and public order, as well as for their dedication and high level of professional preparedness while carrying out their duties.
