Russian Side Does Not Accept Such Preconditions: Peskov on the USA

Russia considers the implementation of mutually beneficial projects with Washington possible under conditions of improved bilateral relations. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia.

“The United States continues to directly link the resumption of economic cooperation with Russia to the resolution of the Ukrainian conflict. However, the Russian side does not accept such a precondition and does not consider it mandatory for the restoration of bilateral relations,” he stated.

According to the Kremlin representative, despite existing political disagreements, the potential for economic cooperation remains. At the same time, official Moscow notes that there has been no clarification from the American side regarding the extension of permits for the sale of Russian oil and oil products. The White House has not yet made an official statement concerning the restrictions or reconsideration related to the trade of energy resources.
