Pashinyan on Tax Delinquents
During a visit to the newly constructed Paruyr Sevak educational complex, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the importance of fulfilling tax obligations in the context of state construction. He shared his impressions from the opening of a kindergarten in one of the villages, noting that he urged residents to always request a cash register receipt when making purchases and not to hesitate to pay taxes, remembering the created educational institutions.
Pashinyan believes that an individual's well-being is primarily conditioned not by their own spending, but by the funds directed towards their welfare from state and community budgets. According to the Prime Minister, no matter how wealthy a person may be, parents cannot build separate schools or kindergartens for their children, just as it is impossible to create individual roads to their homes using personal funds.
The Prime Minister also emphasized that the tax system is sometimes demonized for political purposes. “Those who demonize the tax system, who say, 'Let this one not pay taxes, let that one not pay taxes, the third, fourth, fifth, sixth, what do they say? They say, 'Let there be no school, let there be no road, let there be no salary, let there be no teacher in Armenia receiving 500, 700, or 300,000 drams, let there be no program worth 16 million, and so on,” said Nikol Pashinyan.
