Video: The number of metro cars is insufficient, Avinyan
During a session of the Yerevan City Hall’s operational council, Mayor Tigran Avinyan addressed the insufficient number of metro cars, inquiring about the ongoing projects.
It was reported that additional funding will be allocated for the renovation of three cars. As a result, instead of four three-car trains currently in operation, there will be seven.
Moreover, the process of acquiring 48 new cars is underway.
Tigran Avinyan also informed that the number of validations for public transport in the capital has increased by 15-30% compared to the previous week, indicating the effectiveness of the stricter regulations.
"Those who do not pay are a burden that we all carry together. We have weekly non-payments amounting to 70-80 million drams, which means we could purchase 2 new buses weekly with the amount from non-payers," said Avinyan.
