"Misinformation": The Investigative Committee Provides New Details on Police Bus Accident
On April 11, 2026, a criminal case was initiated regarding a traffic accident involving a "Nissan" vehicle and the National Police of the Republic of Armenia's gendarmerie bus, "Hyundai", which occurred on the Margara-Vanadzor-Tashir highway. This was reported by the spokesperson for the Investigative Committee, Kima Avdalyan.
According to article 342, part 2 of the Criminal Code (violating the requirements aimed at ensuring road safety, or rules ensuring the safety of road traffic or the operation of vehicles, which negligently caused a death), investigations are ongoing.
“Misinformation is circulating on the internet, claiming that the accident was caused by the gendarmerie bus of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. However, an examination of the scene revealed that the "Nissan" vehicle collided with the "Hyundai" bus in the oncoming lane. Another piece of misinformation relates to the gendarmerie bus escorting the Prime Minister's convoy, which is also untrue, as the gendarmerie officers were traveling in the mentioned vehicle to carry out duties in the Lori region,” the spokesperson stated.
