Iran Presents Preconditions to the US
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has stated on social media that the two points agreed upon by the parties have yet to be implemented. He indicated, “We are talking about the lifting of Iranian assets before the ceasefire in Lebanon and the start of negotiations. These two conditions must be fulfilled before the negotiations begin.”
US Vice President Jay D. Vance has already traveled to Pakistan, where negotiations with the Iranian side are planned. Before departing, he expressed positive expectations regarding the upcoming meeting, emphasizing that the US is ready for constructive dialogue, provided the other side shows goodwill.
“We are eagerly awaiting the negotiations. I believe they will be positive. If the Iranians are willing to negotiate in good faith and extend a helping hand, that is one thing. If they try to play games with us, they will find that the negotiating team is not so receptive. The President has given us quite clear instructions, and we will see what comes of it,” said the US Vice President.
