Video: A Multifunctional Recreation Area to Be Created in the Hrazdan Gorge

The government plans to build a multifunctional recreation area in the Hrazdan gorge, 5.5 kilometers from the beginning of the gorge, adjacent to Athens Street.

"The project includes the improvement of the gorge, new landscaping, comfortable parks, recreation areas, platforms for sporting events, a movie watching venue, as well as a café that will become a center for social interactions in the gorge," stated Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan.

The project justification notes that the area is currently in a miserable state, with marshes and reed beds present along the shores, and the accumulation of stagnant water in the summer leads to unpleasant odors, adversely affecting the environment and the conditions for citizens' recreation.
