VIDEO: Mandatory Labeling Requirement for AI-Generated Content
A supplement to the "Law on Audiovisual Media" will be implemented. The bill was presented by Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia, Mikayel Hayrapetyan, at the extraordinary session of the National Assembly.
According to the justification, there is a necessity for this legal act due to the rapid development of information technologies and especially artificial intelligence in recent years, which has led to the widespread adoption of new methods of digital content creation. With the use of generative algorithms and artificial intelligence systems, it is possible to create audiovisual, visual, and audio content that can externally resemble reality, either fully or partially.
“In this context, there is a need to establish a clear legal definition of synthetic content and to stipulate mandatory labeling requirements for audiovisual media service providers to ensure the transparency of information and the awareness of consumers,” said Mikayel Hayrapetyan.
The bill also includes liability measures for violations of the labeling requirements for synthetic content. Further details are provided in the video.
