VIDEO: The Assessment Procedure for Electric Vehicle Property Tax Changed

With the new assessment procedure, the property tax for electric vehicles is significantly reduced. This information is reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia.

The decision comes into effect today, starting from April 1.

“According to the decision, the method of calculating the engine power of electric vehicles has been changed. If the vehicle already has an electronic passport, the information indicated there will be used for calculating the property tax. In the absence of such a passport, the calculation will be done according to the new procedure. For motor powers up to 250 horsepower inclusive, the number is divided by 1.5. For 251 and above, the calculation is done in two parts: the first 250 horsepower is divided by 1.5, and the remaining part is divided by 2.5. The resulting figures are then summed up,” said Narek Sargsyan, the press secretary of the Minister of Internal Affairs.
