Vote Buying Will Be Brought to Your Noses: Daniel Ioannisian

“A few days ago, I mentioned that we have information indicating that some political parties are formally registering individuals as employees (in organizations affiliated with that party) to disguise vote buying. Today, the Anti-Corruption Committee released a recording of a similar incident in Metsamor and arrested five people,” wrote Daniel Ioannisian, founder of the Civic Initiative for Informed Citizens, on his Facebook page.

“Dear compatriots, the vote buying you’ve taken will be brought to your noses. If you don’t understand this, let me clarify that you can be sentenced to up to 7 years in prison for accepting vote buying. Simply registering somewhere and receiving money in this way will not save you. For revealing vote buying, law enforcement can, by a court’s secret decision, conduct phone tapping and internal surveillance of homes,” Ioannisian added.
