Over 130 Historical and Cultural Monuments Damaged in Iran
As a result of attacks by the United States and Israel, 131 historical and cultural monuments have been damaged in Iran. Among them are several monuments of global significance. This was announced by the Iranian Ministry of Cultural Heritage on March 30.
The ministry noted that the extent of damage to cultural values continues to grow and has called on the international community to pay attention to the issue.
Earlier, on March 12, Abbas Araghchi stated that the Israeli Defense Forces had struck a number of sites located in Iran, which are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. According to him, buildings dating back to the 14th century were also targeted.
On March 15, the ministry reported that 56 museums and historical monuments had been damaged as a result of the strikes. Among them is the Golestan Palace in Tehran, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
