Will a Venezuelan or Iranian Scenario Be Applied to Macron? - Zakharova

The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, may lose his position against his will, stated Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, commenting on U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement from yesterday.

“I have one more question. Will a Venezuelan scenario or an Iranian one be applied to Macron? In fact, this is the main question that I believe Macron was asking himself,” said Zakharova during an interview with Sputnik radio.

Just the day before, the American leader noted that his French counterpart would soon leave office. Elections in France are set to take place in April 2027, but Macron will not be able to participate as he is nearing the end of his two consecutive five-year terms.
