The Strait of Hormuz Will Not Be Open to Any Country Seeking to Strike: Iranian Foreign Ministry

A number of countries' ships have transited the Strait of Hormuz in coordination with Iran. This was stated during a press briefing by the official representative of Iran's Foreign Ministry, Esmaeil Baghaei.

According to him, several states have organized the passage of their vessels through the strait as a result of coordination with the Islamic Republic of Iran. The diplomat noted that this demonstrates Iran's responsible approach to ensuring navigation security in the region.

Baghaei emphasized that recent developments are related to a war that he claims has been imposed on the region by the United States and Israel. He also stated that Iran has the right to take necessary measures to secure its national security and prevent potential threats.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry representative clarified that the Strait of Hormuz remains open for international navigation; however, it is closed to those countries that, as he mentioned, have conducted aggression against Iran.

Earlier, the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, reported that EU foreign ministers are discussing the possibility of sending military ships to the Strait of Hormuz to ensure navigation security.
