London Rejects US President Donald Trump's Proposal
The United Kingdom is not planning to send naval ships to the Strait of Hormuz to participate in the proposed mission for escorting commercial vessels. This was reported by The Telegraph, noting that London has rejected the offer from the administration of US President Donald Trump.
According to the same source, France, Germany, and South Korea are also not prepared to take such steps. Japan and Australia have also stated that they currently do not plan to deploy their naval forces to the Middle East to ensure the safety of vessels passing through the strait.
At the same time, The Wall Street Journal, citing American officials, reports that Washington intends to announce the formation of an international coalition for the escorting of vessels as early as this week. The initiative aims to ensure navigation safety in the Strait of Hormuz. It has not yet been disclosed which countries are ready to join the potential coalition.
