Nagorno-Karabakh Had Another Guarantor Besides Russia, Says Robert Kocharyan
Nagorno-Karabakh had another guarantor aside from Russia—the Republic of Armenia—and Armenia was the first to abandon this function, subsequently blaming Russia for the situation. This was stated by the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, during the "Big Politics" podcast.
“Armenia has nullified Russia's role as a mediator. Russia had two functions: one as a mediator in this conflict, and the other as a guarantor after the war was stopped. When Armenia withdrew from that format, the entire construction collapsed,” Kocharyan noted.
