Part of the Electoral Code Amendments Has Come into Force

As of February 7, part of the amendments to the Electoral Code has come into force.

• The threshold for political parties has been lowered to 4%.
• The threshold for alliances has increased from 7% to 8% if composed of three parties, and to 10% if consisting of three or more parties.
• The deposit amount for political parties has been reduced from 10 million to 7.5 million, while for alliances it is set at 15 million.
• The prohibition on the formation of coalitions consisting of more than three political forces has been removed. Under the new regulations, the right to form a coalition within a 9-day period is granted to the party with the most votes.
