Armenian Embassy in Iran Operating Under Emergency Conditions: MFA

The Armenian Embassy in Iran continues to operate under emergency conditions. With the support of the embassy, a second Armenian citizen returned to Armenia on March 9. This was reported by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"The Armenian Embassy in Iran receives an average of 20-25 calls per day, mainly concerning the possibility of crossing the Armenia-Iran border. Border crossings from Iran to Armenia and vice versa have been conducted in a normal regime.

Due to communication restrictions, the Armenian Embassy in Iran is continuously assisting in relaying information regarding Armenians in the country to their relatives.

There is currently no information regarding Armenian citizens among those affected by developments in Iran. Foreign citizens are also continuing to contact the embassy to obtain information regarding entry opportunities into the Republic of Armenia. Appropriate clarifications and necessary guidance are provided to them.

Meanwhile, the embassy continues to extend necessary support to diplomats of several diplomatic representations accredited in Iran and their family members to facilitate their return through Armenian territory," the statement said.
