Araghchin on the Selection of Iran's Supreme Leader
Iran does not believe the time has come to discuss the conditions for ceasing military operations. This was stated by the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, Abbas Araghchin.
“We have not yet reached that point,” he said in an interview with NBC News, answering a question regarding the conditions under which Iran would agree to halt military conflict. “A complete cessation of war is necessary; without it, we will continue to fight for our people and security.”
Araghchin also addressed the selection of Iran's Supreme Leader, stating, “This is solely an issue for the people of Iran. No one should interfere in this matter. This is only the question of the Iranian people, no one else,” he commented on Trump's statements that the U.S. should participate in the selection process of Iran's new leadership.
